How to know if you're in the right career
There are lots of signs you can pay attention to about whether or not you’re in a job that’s a good fit for you. Here are 3 tools that I recommend giving a try to clue you in:

Check in with your stress levels. Where do your stress levels rate on a scale of 1 to 10 before work and when you get home from work? How do those numbers compare? If you're on a consistent end-of-day-low streak, that's a sign.
Assess if you’re using your top strengths. Create a 7x3 grid on a piece of paper. List your top 3 strengths in the vertical boxes then list the 7 week days horizontally across the top of the grid. Write a check in each box for when you've used that strength that day of the week. Count the number of checks you fill in. If that total is 15 checks or less, that's a sign.
Go with your gut. What is the one thing you think about doing all the time? To quote the one and only Whoopie Goldberg from Sister Act 2: “If you wake up every day and all you can think about is (singing), then you’re a singer, girl."
At the end of the day, knowing whether you’re in the right job all comes down to a conversation between your head and your heart. The second you can tune into those two voices, you'll be able to do what Ace of Base says and *see the sign* on your next step.
